| Our Consignment Policy - Begin Consigning With Us We do buy items outright but you always make more on consignment. Consignment Period is always between 45-90 Days, depending on value and sell ability. Consignment rules. After the allotted days consignors have option to pickup any remaining merchandise (if any) within 2 days. Simply bring in 10 more acceptable items within the time period and receive an additional amount of days. Basically if we see you every month , you will see checks every month. We try to take items only that we think we can sell. We don't want to waste anyone's time. We pick up all items for free of charge. Original Prices Established by Consignor We encourage consignors to set prices to sell within the early part of the consignment period however we have over 15 years experience in this business. We charge retail prices. Malden Center thrift Store will return to Consignor 50% of Selling Price to Consignor - 70% on single items selling over $300.00 when noted in contract. Automatic Markdowns Applied After item has been consigned 15 days merchandise will be marked down 20% to encourage sale, after 20 days merchandise will be marked down an additional 20% of original price. See our Store Policies for further details. Fully Computerized Inventory System We have one of the best software systems in the Consignment Industry. Merchandise qualifications are as follows: Electrical Items must be in 100% working order with all accessories attached in a clear zip lock bag and labeled with contents. If your item doesn't work you might be subject to fines or fees. Glassware Items must be free of cracks and chips. Bicycles must be in 100% working order with tires fully inflated, gears in working order and controls fully functional. Lawn and Garden Items must be free of all flammable fuels. The above guidelines are intended to give you the consignor an overview of our merchandise qualifications policy. In general all items must be clean, in 100% working order with all accessories attached in a clear zip lock bag and labeled, and most of all having a new or nearly new appearance. You will receive a check in the first ten days of each month.. Checks for account settlements will be mailed to the consignor at the address listed on the consignment agreement. There will be no checks issued for $20.0.00 or less you must pick them up. Account balances of $20.00 or less checks must be picked up. We take good items and bad items. We don't come to your house like some people and take only your good items. There will be a $10.00 per item retrieval fee for any items that are requested to be removed from consignment prior to the expiration of the consignment period. Items we accept and don't accept. |
